CHILDREN'S CREATIVE EMPLOYMENT CENTER
KDAP
Our philosophy
If a child cannot learn the way we teach, we should teach in a way the child can learn." Maria Montessori, Italian educator
At STEAMCenter, we constantly strive to evolve the way we approach children's education by incorporating the most effective methods and subjects that enhance multiple types of intelligence.
For additional information, registrations, and trial lessons, please contact our Administration Office by phone.
Through the EETAA ESPA Program (eetaa.gr) titled 'Promotion and support of children for their integration into preschool education as well as access for school-aged children, teenagers, and people with disabilities to creative engagement services,' you can attend a FREE daily Creative Engagement program at our space for the entire year.
If you already have a voucher, you can contact the STEAMCenter administration for registrations throughout the year.
Our Educational Center offers a different approach to the Educational Process and Creative Engagement.
Below you can see the activities that will take place in our space during the current school year.
With the help of painting, collage, clay, and crafts, we activate the creative energies of our children, familiarize them with their artistic expression, and raise their awareness of works of art. We create constructions from various materials and bring them to life with movement. We discover a new world, full of imagination and spontaneity!
Bonus: In the art workshop at STEAMCenter, children are also introduced to Digital Painting, which uses technology in the most original and fun ways!
Come and discover one of the oldest and most fascinating games, Chess! Through lessons specifically designed for young ages, children are introduced to the basic rules and strategy of the game, but in a fun and friendly way through games and exercises. This activity cultivates children's thinking skills and offers a hobby they can carry with them throughout their lives!
From the very first lessons, children are introduced to the rules of the game, even if they have no prior experience, while the age-based division of the groups ensures the most exciting chess battles throughout the year!
Come and discover many different types of dance! In the Children's Dance activity, we explore dance styles such as Latin, modern jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, lyrical, Greek traditional dances, and other favorite styles through movements and choreographies! Each child has the opportunity to express themselves through movement, discover the beauty they hold within, and uncover hidden talents they didn't know they had.
Dance is a means of release and joy for children. It strengthens the body and provides wellness and flexibility. With music and rhythm as our guide, we will create choreographies with the ultimate goal of enjoyment and fun.
The Children's Dance activity consists of standalone lessons, requiring no prior experience from the children. It is an ideal opportunity for each child to discover their favorite type of dance and learn to express themselves in an alternative way!
This series of lessons aims to foster students' creativity, their ability to improvise, and the acquisition of basic music knowledge (notes, rhythm, musical instruments). Using tools such as play, singing, listening, musical performance, and composition, children learn to function within a group (orchestra), to socialize, and to synchronize. More specifically, the indicative topics are as follows:
- RHYTHM: recognition of rhythmic values - patterns, development of rhythmic patterns with the body and with percussion instruments, creation of improvised rhythmic patterns
- recognizing the concepts of pulse – rhythm, synchronizing with other members of the group
- PITCH: recognition of pitch – melody movement (high – low), learning sheet music – notes, composition of short melodic phrases
- MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS: getting to know musical instruments, learning and recognizing musical instruments by listening, making musical instruments
Through children's yoga, kids will focus on proper posture, improve their flexibility and physical condition, and perfect their balance and coordination in movement. A lesson full of games and imagery, activating their imagination and increasing concentration.
Children learn to collaborate, coexist, and interact. Through the stimuli given to them (such as a story, a picture, a drawing, a poem, a painting, a performance), they are invited to express their opinions and emotions in response to a dilemma that arises, through the dramatization of an imaginary story and the safety provided by the role they adopt.
Games, songs, and music constantly accompany all of the children's theatrical activities.
